Fussgönheim / Hockenheim, August 2010: Which is the fastest, most uproarious, biggest or most spectacular vehicle? This was examined carefully with a lot of steam, special light effects and a lot of fire at the NitrOlympX. Many motorsports fans made their way to the Hockenheim Circuit to not miss 25 years of NitrOlympX. And right in the middle of it all – the Gräff BMW equipped with ALUTEC.

Spain/Andorra July 2010: This year's 3rd round of the King of Europe took place in the Pyrenees on the Grandvalira Circuit, 2400m above sea level, which is normally used for ice racing or other winter rallies.The racing track is extremely challenging and offers fast as well as narrow tracks.

The organisers selected the clipping points in a way that meant that this course would have to be driven on the outer lines, rather than on the racing lines. For the drifters, this meant that they had to meet the clipping points with the rear axle exactly on the mark and for some, this meant that they drove into the wall or into the tyre barriers.

Fussgönheim / July 2010: The largest BMW and MINI event in Europe took place at the airport near Erfurt, Germany. Gräff Motorsport powered by ALUTEC came to Thüringen complete with fan shop, dragster team and drift team to get the BMW drivers well and truly fired up.

As a special treat for drift taxi passengers, the fire brigade sprayed down the track to get it nice and wet. Twinbattles, helicopters, burnouts and donuts were all part of the taxi ride, and everyone who made it into the passenger seat found themselves more than thrilled. After this it was Tom Winter’s turn in his 3000 HP dragster.

A new location, a new world record and a new DriftChallenge format were the highlights of last weekend in Augsburg, at the FC Augsburg’s stadium.

Fussgönheim / Augsburg June 2010: 50 drifters from all over Europe gathered at the Impuls-Arena and showed off their skills in front of almost 3,000 fans who came from Augsburg and the surroundings.

50 drivers from 11 different nations and the first ranked race of the IDS PRO series sponsored by ALUTEC in the Motorsport Arena Oschersleben made for great sport and a superb show at Europe's largest Opel meet in the Magdeburg Börde.

It was one of the first really hot weekends in the year, 50 drivers from all over Europe headed out to the Motorsport Arena Oschersleben to fight for the first victory in the IDS PRO class and the second in the IDS Street class in the notorious Eldorado of drifting.

From 30/10/09 to 01/11/09 the International Drift Series invited the best drivers from Great Britain, Holland, Denmark, Switzerland and Germany to the very demanding drift track through the Müllenbach loop of the Nürburgring in order to determine the top European drifter.

From 29 – 30.08.09 the best drifters of the IDS (International Drift Series) gathered in Thuringia for the first time to drive for important points in the fifth heat in the classes STREET and PRO.

RTL - car dealers Jörg & Dragan enter the triathlon of the ALUTEC-sponsored IDS, at RECARO DAYS

Another episode of the RTL series “Die Autohändler” (“The Car Dealers”) shows Jörg & Dragan in the middle of the ALUTEC-sponsored IDS. The transmission date is the 23rd August 2009.

The 1/8 mile race, burnout contest and drifting – those were the big challenges that “the car-dealers“ had to face at RECARO Days on the Nürburgring race track. Challenged by IDS-PRO drifter Patrick Ritzmann, alias “Patze“, Jörg & Dragan accepted the contest over a cheap used car from the car dealers – that was the story.

Close to the cradle of BMW car production, thousands of fans of the white and blue brand met for the Syndikat-RaceWars at the GRW supported by ALUTEC

From the 24th to the 26th July, everybody who is anybody in the BMW scene gathered in Eisenach for Germany’s biggest BMW get-together – with, of course, the usual gigantic accompanying programme from the German-RaceWars and its partner ALUTEC.

In 1928 “Bayerische Motorenwerke AG“ – which was at that time still earning its keep by manufacturing motorcycles, agricultural equipment, pumps and similar products – bought “Fahrzeugfabrik Eisenach AG“, founded in 1896, and then with the start of production of BMW 3/15 PS and/or DA 2 in 1929 laid the foundation stone for the phenomenal success story of the white and blue brand.

IDS Drifters excel in the ALUTEC-sponsored Drift Challenge with Precision, Performance and Perfection

Last weekend, the IDS Drifters met again at the Nürburgring for the 4th heat of the PRO class and the Swiss Drivers satisfied in the Finale.

As part of the Endurance Championship, last weekend in the 4th heat of the PRO class at the Nürburgring, drivers could take complete advantage of the Müllenbach Loop with a short configuration into the Ford Curve so that the PRO drivers could show off their skills uninterrupted for a whole day. The route is characterised by all important drift characteristics with very fast and slow sections and a topography with invisible curves and is, therefore, virtually predestined for a PRO and perhaps larger international course.

IDS and ALUTEC rouse the 15,000 sportauto Tuner GP visitors to fever pitch

26th and 27th June saw sportauto offer the ultimate motorsport experience with the legendary Tuner Grand Prix at Hockenheimring - and the DriftChallenge supported by ALUTEC drew standing ovations from the fans.

The sportauto Tuner Grand Prix brought the tuning scene to Hockenheim for the 17th time.
Enthusiasts in 16 vehicle categories – from the c. 200 hp Mini Cooper S, powerful compact cars and limousines to the Porsche Turbo with well over 600 hp – shot off in quest of the best average time.
Needless to say, participants also had the chance to show their 400-metre metal at the sprint event, proving just what their wheels had going for them.

IDS and ALUTEC rock the Recaro Days at the Nürburgring

Lots of action, programme highlights for participants, exhibitions and information surrounding the Car & Lifestyle theme were all included on the programme for the Recaro Days event, which was held on 20th and 21st June. The event’s biggest highlight was the Drift Series supported by ALUTEC.

Despite the rain, 25,000 car enthusiasts got more than their money’s worth once again this year. The visitors got to breathe more than their fair share of motor sports air – whether as taxi ride passengers or as participants in one of the many action-packed events. The programme was rounded off with 1/8 mile races, show acts, and the party on the pit roof.
At the 3rd IDS PRO race, the IDS Street and Pro classes were able to celebrate a brand new entry record. There were 23 starters in the Street class and 25 starters in the Pro class.

From 29th to 31st May, the tuning scene celebrated again in Eisenach – with a three-day tuning show, a 1⁄4 mile drag race including night race and numerous other events, powered by ALUTEC.

The tuning scene had already demonstrated how it can celebrate during the season opening at the beginning of the month – and this time it was even better! Although all ticket desks were open, the fans soon formed a 6 km queue as the great tuning show weekend of the German RaceWars once again promised top-class highlights!

Four days of motorsports and pure party at the German RaceWars

Last weekend the leading German sprint scene, the German RaceWars, opened up this year’s season. The first event highlight of this year – also for ALUTEC.

The traditional dance around the maypole is old hat. The Walpurgis night ceremony appears to be shop-soiled. This year’s Season Open of the German RaceWars (GRW) showed with approx. 14,500 visitors how to really celebrate the beginning of May. From 30 April to 3 May, in Eisenach/Kindel there was a frolic extra class mood.

How the trendy rims are created at ALUTEC

The wheel was not always just an unemotional object of everyday use since it was invented 6,000 years ago by the Sumerians using a wooden disc. Above all it was honoured in old cultures as a symbol. Because – without a beginning and end – it reminded them of the continuous circle of becoming and decay. Or also of the sun, which rolled along the heavens.
